Dayton Head Coach Brian Gregory reveals his three phase attack zone offense. These phases, when put together with a continual flow can attack under, below or behind any zone defense in an efficient manner. The overall teaching points of this offense are: score early in transition when the defense is not set or score late by forcing the defense to move based on your ball and player movement.
The three phases of Coach Gregory's attack include:
In each phase he shows you how to throw the zone off balance, which will help your players create high percentage shots in three "sweet spots" on the floor. Each phase is demonstrated versus a 2-3 zone.
Movement Sets Gregory begins with his Movement phase, which is the common thread that ties all three phases together. Gregory shows two sets from a 1-4 set. This is a continuity movement that has some freedom, with a few rules depending on if the ball goes to the low or high post.
Transition and Early Offense Push the ball on every possession! Gregory shows three options to beat the zone before it gets set. These options are same against man or zone.
Set Plays Gregory runs the players through four set plays based out of the 1-4 High set, including a play designed for your best 3-point shooter and a lob to the basket. Utilizing this offense will get your players the ball in rhythm and at the best spots on the floor for high percentage shots.
In addition, Gregory shows you his two favorite man plays and how to run them against the zone and three options to beat a 1-3-1 zone.
